St. Cecilia offers summertime opportunities for our youth interested in diving into their faith deeper while giving of their time, talents, and treasures. In the past, we have visited Great Falls, Montana with Young Neighbors in Action. We have also served at local sites in Portland- the L'Arche community, Maryville Nursing Home, and Night Strike with Hope NW. Every year, middle and high schoolers help lead Vacation Bible School at St. Pius for elementary students.
St. Cecilia also offers attendance at Catholic youth conferences and summer camps, specifically the Steubenville conference and Higher Calling Ropes Camp.

Mother Teresa once famously said, “If you want to bring happiness to the whole world, go home and love your family.” Often times, when people use the term "mission trip'" it entails going to a different city, state, or even country. We know peace begins at our own home before it begins elsewhere. We bring this peace and presence of God by serving and loving our fellow Portland brothers and sisters in need. We are given the unique opportunity to see the face of Christ in those often neglected or marginalized in our society. St. Cecilia's youth perform "Works of Mercy" to our local community. Our service will include feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, comforting the afflicted, and praying for the living and dead. Join us for one, two, or all three works of mercy!

“In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him.” 1 John 4:9
We live in a world where there are voices shouting at us from all sides, trying to tell us who we are and who we aren’t, who we should be and who we shouldn’t be. If we pay too much attention to these voices, it won’t be long before we forget our true identity altogether.
But amidst all the noise is our loving Father, who wants to make Himself known to us and speak truth about who we are. God’s love is deeper and His plan for our lives is greater than anything the world has to offer – will we allow Him to reveal it to us?
This summer, over 50,000 Catholic teens across North America will participate in 25 Steubenville Youth Conferences, and we want you to be one of them! Come experience the love of God in a new and more profound way. He has so much in store for you.

Higher Calling Ropes Camp is a week-long Catholic youth camp experience, featuring: Daily Mass, daily low and high ropes course challenges, nightly talks by keynote speaker Doug Tooke, music by David Casey, small groups and more. Throughout the week we have fun with messy games and talent shows and take time to gather and pray, celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation and praying together in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Higher Calling Ropes Camp is a great opportunity to make new friends from all over Oregon and Washington and grow in faith. This camp is the combined effort of many youth ministers from parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon.
Who can attend: Incoming 6th grade youth through graduated high school seniors (June 2018).
