To Love God 3/9
In today’s gospel, Jesus summarized the commandments as loving God with ALL your heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. It appears to me that giving it ALL in my love for God can practically be realized if I try to see God in my neighbor. My neighbor comes in many forms: the needy, the sick, the addict, those who offend us, those I cannot stand. Do we see the face of Christ in them? Is it possible that this love of God with ALL my being can flow through me to my neighbor no matter how small? If we can, let us look into the eyes of these our neighbors and you will see a person yearning for God's love; they just need a little help to encounter God, and it is not always easy to give them that blessed help, it takes the love of God to do it.
In the commandments, God has given us a way to live a fulfilled life and show how much we love him. Do we love God? Do we?
